Mission to Uganda: About

we say yes

On July 16th, 2011 we will be boarding a plane with a team from Journey Church that will take us to Uganda, in East Africa, where we will spend two weeks loving on the people of the country and sharing the love of Jesus with them. Join us in praying for these people, for God to move in their hearts, that many would come to know Jesus as their Savior, and for us to allow the Lord to work in us and through us for His glory.

We'll also get the chance to meet "our" little girl, Hilda, whom we sponsor through Arise Africa International. (That's her in the picture up there!) Hilda lives at the orphanage Journey has partnered with AAI to build, along with 48 other orphans. She's four years old and although we have yet to meet, she has already captured our hearts.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

The purpose of this trip is to share the love of Christ with the people of Uganda. While we are there, we will be working in an orphanage that our church has co-founded with Arise Africa. The orphanage currently houses 50 of the neediest orphaned children from nearby villages. This is where we will get the chance to meet Hilda, our sponsor child! Additionally, we will be traveling to some villages doing hut-to-hut ministry, providing pastoral training and prison ministry.

We will be going with a team from Journey, our church here in Raleigh.

We leave on Saturday, July 16th and will arrive home on Saturday, July 30th.

We will be based out of Jinja, Uganda, where we will stay at the Arise Africa Guest Home.
