Hilda's Story

Many of you have asked about Hilda's background, and while we have a very limited amount of information on her, what we do know, we can share.
The latest update was received around Christmas. Hilda stands around 3 feet tall and weighs between 26-33 pounds. Her father passed away and her mother lives in Kampala (the capital of Uganda) with Hilda's grandmother. I don't know the situation that led to Hilda being placed in the orphanage, but the criteria was such that the sickest of the sick were chosen first. However, Hilda has tested negative to HIV and Hepatitis.
Hilda loves being smart and is sensitive to how she looks. If she is put in clothing that is anything other than her preference, she cries. She is terrified of frogs and imagines there are frogs in her bed at night which results in loud screams. (Side note: when we were asked to send pajama's to our kids, I (Stacy) picked up the cutest pair of pj's with frogs on them. We received the update after I purchased the pj's, but in enough time to return them and get something else! Phew!)
Hilda plays well but can get a little feisty! (She fits in well already!) She enjoys being tickled and has a cute giggle. She loves playing peek-a-boo and her most favorite thing to play with are baby dolls. A girl after my (Stacy's) own heart. (Well, at least when I was a child!)
We just might have to find a small baby doll to bring to her in July...
