Coming Together

In less than 30 days, we will be on our way to the airport! Where did the time go? I remember just yesterday the countdown clock showing over 100 days. And now, we're on the brink of packing! Oh, so much to do before then!

We had our first team meeting on Wednesday night. There are 24 people on the team this year, the largest ever! It was interesting to find out that the majority of the people going on this trip have never been on a missions trip before. We're in good company! We learned that there was a little pressure on our leader to find us flights to get to Uganda during the time allotted. Apparently, flights don't fly into Uganda on a daily basis and with the size of our group, it was looking grim. We were asked to pray that the Lord would work something out and indeed He did!

As of this morning, our flights have been booked! Our travel dates have been altered a bit but they still fall in the time frame that Matt has off from work so that is a huge blessing. We'll be leaving out of the Raleigh Durham Airport on Saturday, July 16th at 6:15pm. We'll fly through London Heathrow, then into Kenya, and then from Kenya to Uganda. We will be returning on Saturday, July 30th at 2:45pm.

As we get closer and closer to departure, this whole process has seemed a bit surreal. I don't think it'll really hit me until I'm on the plane and there's no turning back! Ha!

Are we really going to Africa?! YES!
